IS CAREER CONFUSION CRIPPLING YOUR TEEN OR YOUNG ADULT?

IS CAREER CONFUSION CRIPPLING YOUR TEEN OR YOUNG ADULT?

Are you concerned your teen will make an uninformed career choice they may later regret?

Is your teen interested in a specific career path but not sure if it’s the right fit for them?

Is he or she uncertain about their choice of major and unsure how to pivot?

Without thoroughly researching a career and understanding why they are enrolling into college, your teen will likely choose a major or career they will regret and end up wasting a lot of time, money and effort.

When it comes to researching potential jobs, students often…

▶︎ Take a “let’s see what sticks” approach as they enroll for college classes based solely on their interests

▶︎ Listen to poor advice from a friend or school counselor

▶︎ Pick a job based on the pay, hoping a higher income will make up for a poor fit

In reality, your teen has probably spent more time researching their favorite sport team, dream car, or fashion choices than they do a future career.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN TEENS START THEIR CAREER JOURNEY UNPREPARED?

38% of American college students drop out ; most do not re-enroll

(education data)

61% report regretting their choice of major and would change it if they could go back

( best colleges)

35% of students change their major at least once

(natl center for edu stats)

52% of graduates don’t use their major in their current job

(wall street journal)

I can’t begin to express my gratitude for Nerel’s guidance. The depth of his insight into current career ideas far surpassed the information we got from our school counselor. He showed my son how to truly research and look into the jobs he is interested in and now he is feeling confident about his chosen major in Engineering.

Here’s the thing: Any job they are interested in has many layers that your teen should thoroughly explore before they enroll for college classes.

The goods news is that your child can avoid all the confusion and anxiety with basic career research

and a roadmap for crafting a clear path forward.

The PATHFINDER Bootcamp is designed to help your child get out of the fog of career confusion and kickstart them on their path to success.

Here’s what we will cover over 4 Group Zoom calls:

Recognize. Your child will learn how to identify specific jobs that spark their interest and match their passions. They'll be guided through a process of self-reflection and exploration to create a list of potential careers. By the end of the day, they will select one job to focus on for the rest of the bootcamp.

Research. Together we will dive deep into their chosen career, learning about critical facets that define the job. They will understand how best to quickly gather this information in the decision making process.

Refine. We will continue to critically assess aspects of the job related to their future lifestyle goals. Students will begin to think through their personal values in determining a best fit.

Reflect. Our final call will guide them through a process of reflecting on the facts they have uncovered about the job and whether it is a good fit for them. we will also cover how to choose a major based on a chosen career path.

Your child will come away knowing…

How to determine a job of interest based on their personal preferences and work typology.

How and which critical facts they need to know about any job - and how to detect likes and dislikes to avoid making a regrettable choice.

The process for assessing if a job will be good fit for them and the basics of designing their college major track.

Start college prepared and confident!

(And with a repeatable method for deciding on their best jobs and future pivots!)

I was skeptical about whether our daughter needed extra help with deciding on her major - she’s been an excellent student and is really motivated. But she felt indecisive, and I wasn’t sure how to support with jobs. Mr Winter really laid out a great foundation for exploring who she is and thinking through all the options. I know we both learned what to look for in a job that fits her interests. After the bootcamp she landed a great internship in a Biology lab so she can continue to see if it’s a good fit for her.

I realized that college prep IS career prep and that my daughter would continue to be confused until we got clear on what she wanted to do for her career. This never occurred to me until talking with Nerel. His guidance has completely shifted our thinking about our children’s future and I’m so grateful we found him when we did. Now Josie has a clear plan for which classes she’s taking and why. Our 2 younger girls will definitely be meeting with Nerel to plan their career and college paths too.

Hey There,

I’m your Coach, Nerel Winter

I’ve spent the last decade inside the classroom with students, working behind the scenes to create system change, and as the Principal of a High school working with families just like you. I’ve spent countless hours counseling parents and families who are struggling to support their students through the confusion, heartache, and anxiety attached to future job planning.

So I see you and I love that you are taking the initiative to help your child through this transition!

Our education system is failing to prepare our students for the world of work beyond school…but you the parent, have the opportunity to fill that gap and help students get clear on what a unique and meaningful work they can contribute to this world.

Career exploration should be something to get excited about, not stressed over. And that’s exactly what I built this bootcamp for - to help your child get unstuck and get them looking at their career path with confidence and hope!

I know you will both leave this “know before you go” experience empowered for college and beyond. I would love the opportunity to get to know and work alongside you!

Founder of Bostonia Global K-14 School and recognized as one of the top innovative educators in the US, Nerel brings his expertise in creating a learning environment where each student can carve their own unique path. You can read more about Nerel here.

  • If your child has already chosen a specific major or job they are interested in, that’s great! If not, that is ok too. Our first call will focus on helping them identify a job they can use as an example as they learn the strategies for researching and deciding if it is the right fit for them.

  • We can’t stress this enough - college is not necessary for everybody, AND it is only one path to great career. Your child will still be able to identify a job they are interested in and learn about the different requirements for that role, including ways they can gain knowledge and skills outside of college.

  • Yes! The Bootcamp is all about giving them a proven strategy they can use again and again for their future career decisions.

  • You can always email me hello@nerelwinter.com or sign up for a free 30 minute phone consult with me here

  • No but parents are always welcome. Calls will be focused on the students and actively doing the work together so any “homework” will be completely optional. There will be no assignments or work for you to manage outside the 4 calls. Parents will want to be present for our personal 1x1 follow up call.

  • Please have your child fill out the intake questions after registering. It will be helpful for them to come to the first call with a job or career field of interest in mind. But if they are undecided, no worries, our first call will help them in identifying some potential jobs of interest.

  • The calls will be recorded and accessible in the bootcamp portal.

  • You have access for 3 months after the bootcamp dates.

  • Yes! More bootcamps will be launching for fall and spring. Please email me at hello@nerelwinter.com with the subject line “BOOTCAMP WAITLIST” and I will make sure you get notified.
